Let’s say you had a time machine to walk into a now-defunct casino, sit down at the tables, and buy a full rack (or three) of their chips.

Which casino would you bring back just for the chips? Would you go for something like a classic Dunes mold or just a sentimental favorite?

Maybe not just for the chips, but the Taj....

I'd get racks and racks of Taj $1s:

Yes!! This would be my choice as well. I used to catch a bus over from MD and play at the Taj all weekend back in the day. I loved that place so much. Unfortunately, I just have the one $1 chip I saved from one of my sessions there.

Nevada Lodge would be my choice for sure. Followed by Pick Hobson’s Riverside.

Themed my entire card room after NL/NC.

I was a regular at Taj for several years before I ever considered collecting chips.
To go back and be able to assemble a minty set of chips from the Taj would be amazing!
Just like your picture, I’ve got one very nice rack of $1s. Wish there was a way to complete a set.

There are several racks in very good condition roaming around. Frankly I'm shocked by how many, considering how gross lovely that place was.

You said ONE defunct Casino, so that's tough. For me, it's not about going back and getting a rack(s) of the most valuable chip today and making a ton of money. It's about getting chips that I really loved. You nailed it when you said "Dunes", I've always loved those (golf course) inlays and house molds.
But to pick just one I'd do this Sands chip with a house mold that I also love:
