And then message the one you were bidding against with a flip offer??? My god what’s wrong with some in this hobby??

I never like having to scratch someone off my buy/sell list but I will not deal with this crap. And to those that bid on things intentionally then come with 20 of them at double????? GFYS! Do you really think it’s that hard to know who you are?

Honestly I participate in a few hobbies and don’t see this behavior.

How do they get your email from eBay bid history..?

But no, I wouldn’t do that and would tell the guy to GFYS and good luck traveling through life as a complete D-bag.

No they track sellers and reach out either text email or even here on Chipper!!!!
 
Here is a perfect example of this

The guy bidding $12 has zero use for those and bidding there other than he’s just running up someone he doesn’t like or he has quantities and wants to flip them to the Euro guy he knows wants them and needs high comps.
He uses the same line on me before I wrote him off as a slimebag and told him to get bent. Oh well I paid this much on eBay it’s my cost

Seller sure is a ReallyShittyUserName

I called out fukery in another thread but another pretty obvious reseller bids crap up on eBay like Bellagio 98 anything then the next day has more for sale.
Then Danny explained above more of his antics.

This is a small hobby compared to about anything. It’s so easily manipulated
 
This sounds like it’s right up the alley of good old ReallyAwfulUserName. He does this to countless people, yet he is constantly protected at the other site. Sadly, he just constantly preys on anyone he can make a penny from. His behavior is clinical. And that’s said with all sincerity. No normal person can think and behave like him.

Have heard at least a couple people say he goes after new users to target them and be buddies and give advice to facilitate price gouging via PMs
Don’t see him doing much public sales anymore and if you even call the gougers there just out for profit the admins delete it so I guess they condone that behavior

I hadn’t been able able to log in for a couple months (just tried again a few days ago), and it just kept popping up some kind of authentication page. Tried today, and no issues at all.

And, please, don’t use GUN when talking about Really. You could “trigger” him and force him to the safe space of his living room that he apparently NEVER leaves.

I have to admit, I ALMOST feel bad for the POS. Can you imagine having such a worthless, sad, and insignificant life where you don’t have to do anything but scour the interwebs all day long in an attempt to screw over as many people that you can??

I'm a pretty experienced ebay individual (not store) seller. The problem with using shill bidders on ebay is that your shill might post the high bid. Then you have to just pay the ebay fees and relist the item, or you have to go through some complex scheme and claim non-payment or "buyer cancelled" ruse to avoid paying the fee. Dishonesty can lead to the proverbial "tangled web". I'm shying away from ebay selling if I can at all avoid it because ebay fees and shipping costs are so high, it causes me to list items at higher prices. I'd prefer to start auctions at a reasonable price and see what happens. Although I'm well aware of some types of behavior, it always disappoints me as to what people do for money, even a relatively small amount of money.

In this instance, the bidder isn’t a “shill bidder,” he’s just a horrible human being. He targets chips he knows others are after, and then he drives the prices up as high as he can. He then either holds the chips as “trade bait,” or he tries to flip for ridiculous sums. He is truly pathetic, but the other site does its best to protect him because he fits their group think, and he’s a paid vendor over there.

Ahh, understood. And this is being done by a supposed "vendor"? Agree, truly PATHETIC. I hope those acquisitions blow up in his face. After all, isn't it logical that anyone could have outbid him on ebay? And if no one outbid him, wouldn't that tell you that no one is willing to pay more for that item than he did? ... so sick.
