I guess now is the time of year again for y'all to express your wants on how the site works! Features, appearance, sections etc.

My budget isn't huge but I'd love to hear the wish list from our members on any changes or features you'd like to see. Without your input all we see is "My Vision" so please chime in to Make Chipper great!

Who do I contact to buy the Belém Tower and does the same person own the Monument Of Discoveries so I can make a bundle purchase?

Can you make these areas slightly different colors? All the white boxes just run together and it’s hard to tell where one post ends and another begins. Also the reply message box is the same color so it’s harder to discern between the areas.

I was going to disable that feature as it hasn't had an update and the XF platform is going to have major changes in the next version which will break plugins and possibly the site and i certainly don't want that.

I don't know how important auctions are in the sales area but we are close to complete on our solution but I don't want to have too much money invested in a plugin only to have it break the site on a xenforo version upgrade then have to pay the developer to revamp it.

When I broke the site last time ( 🤒 ) it was due to the fact that that I used too many outside developers for the "skin" who weren't ready for a version change.

There are many options and plug ins at the xenforo.com site and if interested you can visit it and peruse the "community" tab where they have a forum like ours where instead of selling chips they offer features and plugins for the site where some are free and many you pay for and that's where all the features and plugins come from at all the XF sites like here and at 🍊. I'm not a code writer and I'm pretty sure the admin over there isn't either so when it comes to features and options we need to hire these developers at that site for quotes on making the site what we want it to be. Sometimes its cheap and sometimes its prohibitive in cost.
 
Aside from summer being busy for me and all of you, I haven really taken a whole lot of time to look into the full functionality of XF and all the plugins we have and focus on little things at a time. @ekricket mentioned changing some colors around and I played with that for a bit and will look into it some more. I am open to making the site look and work any way our members want it to within reason but without specific suggestions it is difficult to make changes as I dont just want them to be changes I like, we all have to like them and i know as we see in many posts, you wont be able to please everyone.

Keep the suggestions coming this thread so they can be looked into and possibly implemented!

I haven’t looked at wanted ads yet. If you have them, maybe think about not allowing replies to cut down on the expectations and drama that comes with them? In my opinion if you put a wanted ad out, especially with no price, you are looking for private message deals, not a bunch of chatter in a thread.

Yes It would delete the user account if there is a join and then no activity for 1 year. I mean if you join and have no activity in a whole year what's the point?

As for the site making money I do not charge a dime nor paly around with ads etc. or vendor fees, The site is dedicated to my love of the hobby and for the hobby and the great folks in it! So in short, (or long) there is no revenue generated by inflated user numbers. I think keeping inactive member on the rolls and/or fake user accounts to inflate the membership is merely an ego thing or to mis guide folks into thinking you are more that you are.

This number grows by around 100 a month and the activity level does not represent the number so what the point?
 
Just for reference this is the total cost of hosting the site whether we have 700 members or 70,000 including all upgrades, support and such.

It was $2400 but has increased to $2700 for one year.

Some folks buy supporting memberships to help with that but I haven't really promoted that or spent time trying to monetize the site.
If were being transparent.

I thought commenting was off in the wanted, it is off. And a cover picture is required, now that doesnt mean the pic has to match the ad..... 😂
