Do you think the design and value of casino chips contribute to a sense of illusion and enticement in the gambling environment? How do you perceive the psychological impact of colorful, intricately designed chips on players' decision-making and overall gambling experience?

When you talk to the half a dozen architecture firms who design casinos, they talk about everything from ceiling height, to colours, grouping of games, flow of people walking through vs separating out those who want to stay etc. And none of them have ever...ever said anything about chips to me without prompting, and then it is filed under "keeping the brand intact".

No one makes the decision to gamble at a casino because the chips are pretty and no one avoids gambling at a casino because the chips are ugly. The quality of chip design is a leading indicator of the overall quality of the brand; low Quality chips=low quality rooms, beds, uniforms. Sometimes that does not hold true like the original Strat chips punched above their weight but the top ups chips went cheap…when I visit a casino (very rarely of course) I look at the crappy chip, shrug and go ok deal…

The new icons at Golden Nugget are low quality but their rooms and such are very nice.... Not sure that correlates..

Pre covid I walked in to either Jerry's Nugget or wild wild west, or some pit with a group of friends. One...who did not know about my chip hobby, made a comment when we all bought in, that his chips stuck together with the grime and....lets stick to grime...of 100 years on them, and that they were real thin. But that didn't stop any of us from playing and losing...kinda like cigarette burns on the carpet...they are a negative but you kinda know that walking into certain places.

I remember years back it made the news that the El Cortez put new carpeting in the casino...... It made the news!
