There seems to be many schools of thought on the values of chips. Naturally rarity (at least perceived rarity) is a major factor. Condition, also very important. Genuine or counterfeit, also a major factor. Appearance (colors, inserts) factor? History of the chip or casino.
Many new fantasy chips, even those made by Paulson in recent years, even though Paulson has promised the industry they wouldn’t make such chips any more have become a segment.
All those things aside, I’m wondering everyone’s thoughts on what casino location alone does to affect value of a chip. In this topic I also want to skip over the fact that differing values between set collectors and singles collectors is very different in general as this is a whole other topic of discussion.
So, is a Nevada chip the king of value? Is it California? Is a chip from an obscure casino in Indiana as valuable as a chip from an obscure Nevada casino?
