Reversed THC?

Hey Fellow Chippers,

ChipGuide has 2 editions of this Rainbow Club .10 chip...

Are my eyes playing tricks or is the first chip from the 1970's raised THCs with recessed background? The 1967 edition is just the opposite, raised background and recessed THCs. If this is accurate, it should be an easy way to distinguish. I have never seen the raised THC on a chip before. It would wear down pretty quickly, one would think.

Any chip gurus out there to solve the mystery?

your eyes are playing tricks on you. both chips have the hat and cane pressed into the chip, also known as debossed.
 
Yes, I can squint, cross and refocus my eyes to see the debossing. But if I look too long, I'm afraid my eyes will stay like that. :)
