Problem or opportunity?? What say you?

I like CCA and I don’t like the name calling they seem to receive and I feel work hard and get a bad wrap.
However they have become stagnant and ineffective and close minded. I also feel they take their some membership and dealers for granted. They seem to lack vision too and just want control without seeking improvement and change to strengthen the club. It’s a head scratcher because they have assistance but choose to ignore most of it.

I have to agree Mitch! As an organization they could be the definitive club in the hobby with a growing membership nurtured by its leadership versus what you describe and with a sinking membership and reluctance to support its questionable leadership. Being close to the industry for years and having many contacts at the big 2 in LV I would have snap called in favors to the club like some have in the past, but, without having confidence in leadership, vision and what they may do I find myself looking for other avenues and better ways to use those resources. I know that's a lot like telling someone "I was going to make a large purchase from you but you're posting negative things", but it is wholly true.

I will not give up my efforts to better the club (CCA) in any way I can but as far as resources or financially, there would have to be many changes before I could do that. Fundamental changes is what the CCA needs not resources to piddle away as seems it is what they currently do. Not quite the way to support a a dying club on life support. There is 2 things facing the hobby in general, Save the club via fundamental change and fresh young vision, or form or support and grow something new.

Change for the sake of change is no good, but change to better ones self or organization is VITAL.

I hope Dan and Joe and others reach out to the CCA leadership and try to work something out where there is peace, civility and respect achieved and then see about solutions and ideas to make the club better and stronger and whole. I would try to end this mess and if success is not achieved then there is always future elections that could change things. Again I reach out and try to end this trainwreck.

You're a good man Mitch, I have no beef with the club and most of its members. I will watch with interest and look for positive changes. That and other clubs are a good asset to our hobby it is sad that its current leadership has some issues, I hope they work it out. Many have given really good ideas, resources and feedback and I get the frustrations they experience when they are rudely dismissed and told 100 different ways why it wont work any way but theirs. Membership numbers reflect their decisions. Attendance of that show reflect their decisions, I see they boasted that the dealers said the revenues were up this year, which may be true, but revenues are up for everyone in this world, a $12 steak is $50 too.

Things are fine until they're not. We all see the future differently.

Unfortunately the heat they get they bring to themselves, a few at the top bring the heat to the whole organization.

In casino terms, They Double Down on 12 when the dealer is showing a 7 frequently. We all know how that ends up.

Thx Dan U2.
Well stated! Revenues were up. The auction was very successful but foot traffic was slow and down. Declining membership is a fact.
