I did something stupid...........

I regularly hunt for poker chips outside the normal channels. I mainly search classifieds and less popular auction sites. Yesterday however, I bought a storage unit in Billings MT. Its a 12.5 hour drive from me but Ive got the next 4 days off work and fuck it, Im going to go see whats in there.

I bought the unit for 150 dollars. Its full of old poker equipment from what looks like a closed down card room in Billings. After scouring the chip guide I narrowed it down to only a handful of possibilities............... if it is indeed from a card room.

That cardroom was very close to this location and it ran 5 tables. It closed down shortly after this storage unit opened and by the looks of the pics this unit hasent been touched in years.

I cant see any chips in the pics but i see cabinets, atleast 2 of them and everything else in here is poker related. Im betting there are chips in those cabinets...........

I know this is a long shot..... I know its probably all trash and Im driving up there to clean out a unit, bringing the stuff to the dump, and driving home...... I know this is a dumb purchase....... But what if Im wrong? Lol

Good luck, Colter!! I’ve always been a big fan of their chips. I’ve scrounged a few together over numerous years, but I gave up on finding quantity a long time ago. Would be epic if they were there.

$150 for that! If you find any chips it would be so worth the money and the time/effort put into it!

Sorry for the late response...... would have been quicker probably if it was good lol.

When I got to the unit it looked perfect. Stacked with cabinets and boxes. The first box was labeled casino chips 1s x2200.......... I ripped it open to find racks and racks of dice chips.

The stuff was from gold dust casino and big Dawgs card room. Everything was there from decor to chips. Unfortunately they were all garbage.

I kept a few hats and souvineer type stuff and paid the guy 200 bucks to haul the rest of it to the dump.

Oh well, on to the next one........ man thought this one might be good

Interesting that ChipGuide doesn't have anything about that place on there. Not even, it being open or any information.

Pretty small card room like you mentioned. Guessing they used probably some generic chips or something to that extent.
 
I also found these in a crown royal bag in there lol.

But yeah it was exactly what I thought it was an entire closed down card room that someone put in there years ago. It was a legal card room and casino I found all kinds of paperwork and shit in there. Used dice chips though. I didn’t keep any of them.
